ABES Engineering CEO Emmanuel Tuombe shared his entrepreneurial journey during the June 23 “We Mean Business Summit,” organized by the Memphis Office of Business Diversity and Compliance.
During his speech, Tuombe thanked the city of Memphis and numerous business partners for their support and mentorship in growing ABES from a one-person firm to a company of 12 (and growing) during the past seven years.
Tuombe recalled his upbringing in Rwanda, a country in east central Africa, where he first developed his passion for engineering. That passion eventually brought him to Memphis where he launched ABES Engineering. Tuombe shared the challenges he faced when first establishing ABES Engineering, and credited the city of Memphis’ 800 Initiative for giving him the tools and support he needed to grow his business from a lifestyle business to a scalable business.
